You make a good point, but for better or worse this is an implementation detail which has been intentionally exposed since the beginning of the Everything Engine.
You can't really be a good Monk (or E2 noder) without understanding about nodes.

Yes, and there should be a link to the section on the menu bar at the top of the site. At the moment, the only link I have is in my Editors Nodelet, because I'm a janitor.

I've added Today I Learnt to the Leftovers nodelet.

It seems a bit lost down there. However, as has been pointed out, the top menu is a bit crowded already for it to go up there.
