in reply to On which base CPAN does give away namespaces?

Reading A Wrigley's request, it sounds like a simple misunderstanding to me. AWrigley is who you need to be talking to most.

I'm really disappointed by CPAN administrators

I see no reason for that. I'm not sure they've even acted on AWrigley's request yet and I don't see why you'd feel that they should know to treat that request unusually. I certainly don't expect them to mediate disputes over namespace "ownership" except in the rarest of cases.

On a related note: Anyone care to elaborate on what "namespace ownership" does? Last I looked, it appears that "namespace ownership" simply has to do with "the module list" which has no binding connection to what is on CPAN (AFAICT) and is so out-of-sync as to be mostly useless (and largely replaced by things like http://search.cpan.org/ and Kobes' alternative).

I haved tried to "play by the rules" with regard to registering in "the module list" and requesting comments on namespaces. But that doesn't appear to be working at all well and I now just concentrate on writing good code and documentation and getting it to CPAN.

    Thanks for your advice.

Sometimes it's just a matter of slow down and try to think not all the world is against you.

AWRIGLEY didn't take a look at my code when i first sent it to him and in the meanwhile he get the suggestion for the namespace from another person.

So AWRIGLEY didn't do what he had done on purpose but it was really a misunderstanding going on.

Maybe sometimes i will obtain to upload my module to CPAN.
