You could check Filesys::SmbFileClientParser, which works just fine for that kinda stuff. Filesys::SmbClient should work ok too, now that a new Samba was released. For the curious, Filesys::SmbClient uses lib calls, Filesys::SmbClientParser uses safer smbclient calls.
