2) To the question: Everybody will answer: It wasn't perl doing it to you. It was this bad SQL. ;-)

3) One lesson is also: Don't do copy&paste without understanding what you're copying from elsewhere.

4) Another lesson: Formulate your wishes precisely: My solution does what was requested. The word only was missing in the initial question.

Now, I'll see how much penance I have to do for my sarcastic sin... :-)
