I met him and spent a decent amount of time with him at NA conferences. He was one of the nicest people one could hope to meet. He was a guitar player and collector, loved board and card games, and was an expert bad movie aficionado. He ran the Bad Movie Night BOAF at many a Perl conference. If you've ever attended a Perl Mongers meeting, you have Adler to thank among others. I miss him sorely.
