The San Francisco PM took up a collection for The Perl Foundation at our January meeting. Our guest speaker merlyn announced that Stonehenge would match whatever we raised that night. We raised a grand total of $1425.00, with Stonehenge matching that amount The Perl Foundation will receive $2850.00 from one PM meeting:-)

I would like to encourage all PM groups to do the same. It doesn't matter how large your groups contribution will be, every dollar counts and gets The Perl Foundation closer to their goal.

My thanks goes out to merlyn for agreeing to speak at our meeting, matching funds raised and for inviting Larry Wall to join us(yes, Larry actually joined us), to Larry for attending our meeting(all I can say is WOW), to David Crawford for suggesting that we take up the collection, to all of those who donated and last but not least to Q*bert who worked with me to get the meeting organzied.

I wish you all could have been there, talk about one heck of a meeting. I was also lucky enough to meet a couple of monks who showed up, hi blakemand chip.
