An area specifically for Off topic questions might be a good idea. People who are not interest can avoid the section completely. People who would like to use the knowledge of the monks in other areas can do so here in the "Off Topic" section. That way Perl Monks site can still be focused on Perl and those who wish to digress can have outlet for such things.
