hi. i'm not really a programmer and i've probably bitten off more than i can chew but.....i've been asked by my boss to write an interface to a music catalogue - which is fine, i could do that. the problem is that i know next to nothing about databases. so i implore you, the wise and enlightened monks of the perl order, for advice.

i work in a rather small business so we don't really have much cash to throw around so i need to work with a database that is either cheap or free. i've found postgresql but nothing that would indicate that it will run under windows. also, it needs to run under windows. also it would be wonderful to be able to embed the database into the application but i haven't been able to find any info on embedding databases in perl. is it possible and if so are there any good sites about it?

thanx in advance
