Hi everyone,
I have a perl script that is broken down into 10 subroutines. For performance optimization, I want to run some of the subroutines in parallel.
I'm a bit stumped on how to do this. I was hoping to get some help on how to start.
I looked at the backticks operator but perl waits until the operation is done.
A couple of CPAN modules I found include:
coroutines:: but these don't really run in parallel.
parallel:: It doesn't seem to run simultaneous subroutines.
BTW, is perl threaded or do I need to spawn a new interpreter each time?
Constraints:
1. I have to keep full logging (stdout/stderr) for each of the subroutines.
2. I need to avoid using non-default modules. If I can't, is it OK to redistribute CPAN modules?
Any help is much appreciated! :)
