Ok. I got this nifty-new Perl book. At the end of chapter 1, there are some exercises. One, asks us to modify an example program to keep a running score of correct/incorrect answers. Problem is, that this particular function(s), were not covered in the preceding material. Now, I'm a resourceful dude! I've tried the following, but to no avail:
my $correct;
if ($response eq 'q') {
$quit = 1;
} elsif ($response == $solution) {
++$correct;
print "Correct! You have $correct answers\n";
my $correct;
$correct = ++$correct;
if ($response eq 'q') {
$quit = 1;
} elsif ($response == $solution) {
print "Correct! You have $correct right answers\n";
Can someone point me in the right direction?
