Wassercrats, you are entitled to your opinion and I guess we can chalk up another one on the "I believe we shouldn't allow his sig" side. Please note, however, that you can remove it yourself by altering the CSS. Also, both the original as well as this post were posted under PerlMonks Discussion.

and why can't everyone just say deleting the post?

That's part of the terminology used on the site. Furthermore, the post is still accessible. Nodes are rarely, if ever, deleted.

there should be a section for general discussion

General discussion? This is a perl site. Some things are let go. But, usually it is the PM community that decides whether it stays or not through moderation.

or maybe get rid of meditations (yes, I know it's so appropriate for a "monk" message board, but deal with it)

How about no? Try digging through Meditations sometime. There's a wealth of knowledge in there too valuable to give up. What goes there? Pretty much things that the author wishes to share with the community as a whole. So tell you what; how about you just deal with the fact that it exists?

And don't forget to downvote me. I'm almost at the Monk level. We can't let THAT happen!

This is going to seem somewhat crass, but I'll ask anyway. Do you only come here so people think of you as an ass? Not everyone here is out to get you. I respect princepawn highly for his knowledge. I don't know about you yet, but I'm certain you have something to offer the community. I don't care what your XP is nor do I care about my own XP. We're here to share knowledge, not to bitch and argue about everything that goes on with the site. If you have a problem with something someone else does, tell them about it. Not every matter deserves a community poll.
