Oh, I know they are good willed people! Actually I know a lot about the site and it's history. It's besides the point. I know "good willed" people on both sides of multiple moral issues. Their "good will," or anybody's, was not referenced, quantified, or qualified in any of my comments.

My point was that, in actual fact, their sollution is still problematic. Good that they did more than paypal in making it accessible. But like a store with the handicap access that requires going through the storage room, it's better than nothing but really not enough.

It's a technical SOLLUTION that doesn't work. The definition of the solution guarantees it won't be friendly to everybody that has the tools to get there, the tools to use the web. And I, for one, think that is immoral and it's up to each programmer to make a stand. Some think it is fine to wait until the group agrees, before making any such efforts. It is a "feature of society" that you have to live with both kinds of people. It is a "feature of society" that the poor performance of the whole, requires the few to be more extreme in their opposition in order to create change. Welcome to society. Please have a nice day.

People of good will, still sometimes make unfortunate decisions that hurt others. And I think it is immoral to do so knowingly. And I think in this case, any competent web programmer should be able to see instantly that they are excluding people with disabilities. It's not a question of "good will," it's a question of doing the right thing in actual fact. I don't really care what their intentions are. They are probably good.
