Code I was working on when I posted this comment initially has a intermediate processor,written in CGI.
which understood the tags following #T embedded in HTML page.
That processor would take dbfetch as the subroutine name (in this case probably to select from "Usertable" where userid = loginid). I wanted to update to make sure we document the practices existed/existing in some cases.<!--#T|dbfetch|username,id|usertable|userid = loginid||-->
