I joined this monastery a few weeks back. That is how old my Perl knowledge is. I am proud to say that last night I finished my first Perl module (Completely object oriented) and adhering to CPAN guidelines.

I could not have done it without you. You answered all my stupid and not so stupid questions patiently and went to the length to explain the details behind the answer. You suggested several different ways to accomplish the same objective. The selfless act of helping people like me is really commendable. There are so many user groups and bulletin boards but I have never seen the depth of knowledge and the level of sincerity else where. For that, I salute you. If today was not April 1st, I would have even lobbied the day to be observed as Perl Monks day.

I found these extensive threads to be really helpful.
