Just call me lazy for not writing Pod::PDB. Altho there is no Perl code listed below, this is definitly Perl :)

pod2text /usr/lib/perl5/5.005/pod/perlfunc.pod | bibelot.pl -t "perlfunc" - perlfunc.pdb

Bibelot is a perl tool to convert plain text to PDB (PalmDoc). The above line basically (ab)uses pod2text to pipe to Bibelot which dumps.
Adjust path & Bibelot params to your liking.
