I take this as a vigilant reminder...when the only tool you have is Perl (or C or Java or whatever), then every problem looks like it should be solved by Perl. Always evaluate your problem and use the best tool.

You can hammer in a screw, but wouldn't it be much better and easier to use a screwdriver?
