The ternary operator is stackable. So for three choices, the following might be bearable:

           : $type eq 'edit' ? 'wiki_edit2'
           :                   'error';

  print "$type -> $redo\n";
}

__END__
add -> wiki_add2
edit -> wiki_edit2
nada -> error
