With the information at hand, all we can really say is "because something's wrong." As Neophyte suggested, more specific information is needed before anyone can hope to offer any useful advice.

It would help to have specific details about a single reproducible case that crashes your system (assumed). What's the OS on the server (Windows, of some sort, I presume)? Which version of perl? Do you have a short script that crashes? Will you post it? What is it trying to accomplish? Where does it crash?

The Monastery is filled with many monks wise beyond their years, but CPAN does not yet contain a CrystalBall module (that I've found) and I've yet to encounter any telepaths here.

You really need to give us something to work with...
