For UNIX, I'm not sure, but I just noticed X11::GuiTest.

update: for automating console programs, some people seem to like Expect.

Under Windows you might want to check out ScriptIt or AutoId. Not as mighty as Perl of course, but very convenient if all you need is to click off some dialogs and send a few keypresses to a few windows.
