    My attempt to become at least a bit on-topic again:
    It doesn't matter how many down votes I get. It doesn't change that reality.

    You don't get downvoted for stating unpopular facts, but for stating unjustified and possibly insulting claims. And you get downvoted for ignoring arguments and stating the same all over again.

    In my experience perlmonks.org is a very liberal site, and you get much positive feedback (including XP) for stating unusual opinions, as long as you argue in a fair and logical fashion.
