Satanya has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have a perl script that takes values from the fields of a Java GUI. This will be used by multiple nationalities.

My problem is that my script needs to be smart enough to filter the multibit ascii, change it back into the apropriate characters of that language, and print it out when formating is done.

Is this possible, has anyone done this before?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A quick search on CPAN for unicode will bring to your attention the Unicode::MapUTF8 module, among others that can be useful too.
