    My remark doesn't warrant opening a thread in pmdiscuss.

    either way, spam should always be downvoted

    The post in question isn't spam. At all. And if you are eager to apply tight rules, the OP is off topic, since it is not so much about perl, but rather about a linker issue. And to that issue, sundialsvc4s post adds valuable information. Get comfortable with reading and evaluating posts for what they carry, don't get biased by your ideas about their author.

    perl -le'print map{pack c,($-++?1:13)+ord}split//,ESEL'

      If you feel that way, then it doesn't warrant a remark in this thread either, in this thread its specifically off topic

      The post in question isn't spam.

      It is spam by definition, as is every post by that user , he loves downvotes cause search engines dont care about that his spam spreads his business name which is why he keeps posting around here

      And if you are eager to apply tight rules, the OP is off topic, since it is not so much about perl, but rather about a linker issue.

      The OP is on topic, perl linkers issues are perl issues , module installation, perl installation ... all on topic

      And to that issue, sundialsvc4s post adds valuable information. Get comfortable with reading and evaluating posts for what they carry, don't get biased by your ideas about their author.

      Sure, I did that, ten years ago, it quickly became obvious such an approach is pointless waste of time as are his posts

      It doesn't matter if 1/10 or 1/100 of his nodes happen to copy/paste/italicize something vaguely relevant to the topic being discussed,

      or if 1/700 nodes says something correct,

      they're still time waster spam and spam needs to be gone

      why dig through a mountain of shit to find a penny?
