I'm trying to help perlmonks, not Perl 6.

Exactly! If there was a mechanism for Helping PerlMonks, the source of so much assistance to me personally, then I would consider it money well spent.

However, making contributions to YAS, an organisation that I have no knowledge of and which I have seen no visible signs of assistance or conribution to PerlMonks goes against the grain.

They may be a wonderful organisation and may be doing sterling work, but if I can't see it, and don't know what it is, I am reluctant to contribute my currently meager funds in that direction when PM has visible needs.

Is there an explaination of what KWDF is for anywhere?

YAS is perlmonks, at least legally. (Check the footer on all the pages) There should be some sort of perlmonks-specific fund, the same way there's the perl development grant fund and the general fund. It's just a matter of getting someone with some level of authority to set up a separate directed fund so the donations can go there and accumulate until someone with the authority to disburse it can do so. This'd be something for vroom, tye, or one of the other site gods to do in coordination with the YAS folks.	[reply]
