in reply to Win 32 gui

There's also PerlApp within the Perl Dev Kit from ActiveState. It is pay-ware, but it's only $49 for an educational license and $195 for a commercial license. If you just want to try it or want a short-term, one-time type application, you can use the 30-day trial license for free.

For a GUI, Perl/Tk is a very common, portable, option. I've written scripts for use on linux, solaris, macintosh, and win32, and compiled for use on all but the macintosh.
