I've done a lot of Perl over the years and interviewed my fair share of candidates to work for me. This time around I'm interviewing for a Perl Lead role. So the next step in the process is a timed design problem. Apparently 5 people have taken it and noone has passed.
Has anyone else seen this sort of exam paradigm during the interview process? I'm thinking this could simply be a way to "rule out" local programmers to justify hiring an H1B.
I can most likely get it 99% right in the 2 hours, but I'm wondering what this says about the kind of work environment to expect.
