You're not alone in having problems with File::Find. grummerX has already mentioned some useful nodes that you probably could have found using Super Search.

I also suggest you take a look at File::Find::Rule which was written in response to people complaining about File::Find's syntax. Take a quick look round CPAN if you have trouble with a module, as there are often alternatives or simpler subclasses available.
