At the bottom of http://www.wiley.com/legacy/compbooks/chapman/perl/hints1.html you find that "The waiter is the bloke on the cover of my C++ book." The link is broken, I think he means to link to http://www.wiley.com/legacy/compbooks/catalog/95071-8.htm (same thing as the author's link with https swapped to http).
