Why do you need to know "the name"? It might have many names, and it might not even have a name, as in: 
my %ops = (
  '+' => sub { $_[0] + $_[1] },
  '-' => sub { $_[0] - $_[1] },
  '*' => sub { $_[0] * $_[1] },
);
