While I appreciate all of the advice, I realize I may have posted to the wrong message board here. Rather than asking for WISDOM, may I instead ask for ANSWERS? Or is there another board I should post to for those?
Bottom line is, I need to bounce an email w/o using a mod. Since emails are just plain text, and I am capable so far of sending plain text and multi-part emails w/ attachments, I wouldn't think sending a bounce message would be all that difficult. If it is not possible, just say so.
As far as usages beyond what I originally mentioned, I can think of a dozen or so uses for this type of information - some good, some bad.
Does that really matter? Even if I tell you it is only for good, that doesn't preclude someone else viewing this information to use it for bad, nor does it keep me from going back on my word and using it for bad anyway. It is, therefore, of no real concern
why I ask for the information, it will be used by those who choose to use it in ways none of us can control.
I am not a server administrator. I have no desire to be a server administrator. I am a frequent pursuer of information here, although I am not a frequent poster to this forum. The types of answers I am getting here and that I have seen as I have searched on this site for answers to other questions are largely the reason for it. I would consider becoming more involved in this community; however, I haven't found it to be very clear on offering information to those who do not run their own server. This site has been of little to no help to me in improving my understanding or application of Perl or in improving my programming abilities in Perl.
Again, I appreciate your well-intended advice and, where offered, your answers. Unless there is anyone who can answer a question with a straight answer (even if it points to another resource that has the answer) then this becomes nothing more than a shrine of elite programming gods rather than a community of programmers seeking to help each other and improve themselves.
