Dear all,

I am a newbie, and I have every O'reilly perl book, which I am devouring, but I am too new.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for what function to use or method etc. so I can show something like a percentage increase or a hash progress bar, that runs to stdout as the program is running. This is for an rsync script and a cdburning/backup script.

I hope I am making sense and I look forward to writing this.
