I was hanging around the Chatterbox when holli floated this idea, and I regretfully admitted it was right up my alley. With apologies to the Rolling Stones, I respectfully submit the following as a sample of the cringe-inducing parodies I can provide for such a project. It's a first draft, so there are likely a few bugs in here ;^)
Rolling Stones
Waiting On A Friend

Watching zombies piling up
It ain't the latest thing
I'm just looping in a &REAPER
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of the exit codes from wait()
The tales they tell of kids
I'm not waiting on a process
I'm just waiting on a PID

A PID relieves -1 causes grief
Remember what I said
I'm not waiting on a process
I'm just waiting on a PID
I'm just waiting on a PID

Don't need backticks
Don't need no exec()
Don't need a system call
But I need POSIX happy forking
I need a working $SIG{CHLD}
Making kids and waiting pids
It is a game for youth
But I'm not waiting on a process
I'm just waiting on a PID

Next up (provided this doesn't result in my monk status being revoked) is a "Sweet Child of Mine" knock-off.
