Mechanize does not support javascript. Perhaps if you view the javascript of the page you can find a different way to access what you want.

WIN32::IE::Mechanize - can't follow link - JavaScript involved might help (unless it was one of those nodes you found unsatisfactory).

Update: Follow-up Javascript Hyperlink seems to describe this situation. Is it of any help to you?
