Does the following construct make sense to have within a while loop? 

 for (my $mismatch=0; $mismatch<=20; $mismatch++){
                next unless $current_line[5] == 1 && $current_line[14]
+ >= $mismatch;



                 $count++;
        }
                 my $snp_covered{$mismatch}= $count;
