Your code on the server side is incorrectly using $wallref, try this:

    $walldata{WALL_DATE} = $wallref->{'DATE'};

    $walldata{WALL_MESSAGE} = $wallref->{'MESSAGE'};
       
    push (@wall_data, \%walldata); ## i have also tried push @wall_dat
