I have noted an interesting phenomonon.
I have begun learning perl using the excellent llama book and was doing the exercizes for chapter 1
I like Powershell so I opened in that to run the scripts
If I type "perl program.pl" it works as expected right out of the current command window
If I type "program.pl" of course it will not run in PS
but if I type ".\program.pl" it creates a new window which only stays open if the script is running so I had to put in an input command to hold it open
This does not occur in CMD, both ways run the same.
Does anybody know why it has the different operation based on how it is called?
Is there a better way to keep the window open than waiting for an input?
Thanx!
