It's not a bug, it's a feature that promotes learning patience and self-restraint as a counter-measure against vanity. As a matter of fact, it might be the best tool we have in breaking the cycle of narcissism; Imagine pining over our own list of nodes with such fervor that we eventually suffer Narcissus' fate, in a 21st century form, transforming into a beautiful Lambda function existing only a few brief moments before passing out of scope and summoning the collapse of the perfection that is our closure environment. We have the gods to thank for sparing us from our own demise.
