glwtta has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I am trying to install the RSPerl module to itnerface with R, and I get this rather odd error when testing it:
Having found this a bit baffling I duplicated the same installation on an identical machine, without mod_perl installed and it worked just fine.perl -I../share/blib/arch -I../share/blib/lib -MR -MRReferences -e 'pr +int "hi"' Can't load '../share/blib/arch/auto/R/R.so' for module R: /usr/local/l +ib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i686-linux/auto/Apache/Request/Request.so: u +ndefined symbol: ap_null_cleanup at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i686-l +inux/DynaLoader.pm line 229. at -e line 0 Compilation failed in require. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
My understanding of Perl's handling of .so modules is a little limited - could someone shed soem light on what's going on and, hopefully, how to fix it?
Thanks
