I mentioned your post to a coworker, who had mentioned a similar experience recently. My coworker filed a bug on the issue, which the module's author denoted as a duplicate, referring him to the notes on bug report #1946, located at http://rt.cpan.org/NoAuth/Bug.html?id=1946.
