A second child on the way. Reading through baby name books for name ideas. Under "I" is "ISA", a biblical / Israeli girl's name. "Hey," I said to my wife, "we could name the baby after a perl array." She whacked me.

    I would name my kid $1. That way, when he is talking with Perl literates (hehe), there will be converations like this:

    Bob: Hey $1.
    $1: Hi. Why are you talking to yourself?
    Bob: I was talking to you, $1.
    $1: There! You did it again! I am $<, you are Bob.
    Bob: Oh, I see the $!. Sorry.
    $1: No problem, good thing $. didn't build up any more than it did.

    Ahhh, fun with ambiguous antecedents.
