If you are coding for the lowest-common denominator of programmer, then you should code in VB.NET, not in Perl. For one, there are ten times the number of decent VB programmers as Perl programmers. For another, it's easier to teach someone VB than it is to teach someone Perl.

If you're going to go to all the trouble of programming in Perl, then program in Perl! Don't program in Perl-Lite! What's the fun in that??

Being right, does not endow the right to be rude; politeness costs nothing.

Expressing a contrary opinion, whether to the individual or the group, is more often a sign of deeper thought than of cantankerous belligerence.
