Install GTK2

BrowserUk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Update: never mind. I found another set of links that worked.

I found this advice by googling:

But trying to use it I get

Anyone succeeded in doing this? Got any pointers on resolving it?
