It's there. You just have to look.

The module's brief description is: "Print out each line before it is executed (like sh -x)".

Whoops, thanks for the pointer. Apparently "trace" is the magical keyword that I didn't search for. It looks like Devel::Trace and Debug::Trace both do a subset of what I want... see also Automatic debugging	[reply]
