I see that all those suggested modules need the GD module. What about on Win32? ActivePerl doesn't have gd by default. Does Win32 have a different system for doing it?

In fact it appears that ActiveState don't even have gd.pm available for their Perl 5.8, there is only a module for 5.6.
Does anyone have a solution?

It is possible to install GD on windows, I used the ppm package at http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/. In my experience, relying on preinstalled GD in shared hosting can be difficult. I once had an isp that supported GIFs in the GD library but used an outdated GD.pm meaning that any GIF operations failed. So it is best to avoid GIFs in GD altogether if you want portability.
