Perlmonks has served the community for a long time, and it's list of tutorials is substantial.
Also, as ikegami has pointed out to me, the tutorials that make it onto the site tend to be mostly complete when they go into the Tutorials section, and do not receive updates terribly often.
Since the state of the art of Perl programming has no doubt advanced over time as tutorials have been posted, should there be a policy in place for keeping the tutorials up to date? It would be a shame to send new users to the Tutorials section, only to have to warn them that the tut fails to make use of modules and practices that are considered pretty standard fare these days.
Edit: Oops. I just read what's at How does editing work in the Tutorials section? and it sounds like you should probably just add comments if you want to note any modern changes you think are appropriate.
