ColdFusion is a commercial rapid application development platform invented by Jeremy and JJ Allaire in 1995.

vs.

Perl 5.000 was released on October 17, 1994. It was a nearly complete rewrite of the interpreter, and it added many new features to the language, including objects, references, lexical (my) variables, and modules. (OK, I admit, I ignored the release of Perl 1.0 in December 18, 1987.:)

Doesn't look much more antiquated to me...

In either case a nice cost estimate should take care of this nonsense.
