First of all:

Second:
It would be nice if the in thread Go to the root of replies...
wouldn't show up if the reply is to the rootnode, otherwise both links
would lead to the root node, and according to the little Spock in me,
that's just illogical. But then again, Spock was half human, so... ah, nevermind...
In pseudo-perl:

How about a the word (TOP) after the reply text, in a
different color? The slash is very hard to find.
