Now if you click the little "/" after the "in reply to" you'll be transported to the top of the thread. Bonus points for suggestions to better improve the way this looks.

    Does the following look nice? (the word "thread" would be hard coded)

    in reply to Go to the root of replies... of thread

    Update: I moved the example line down so it is easier to notice based on swiftone's comment.

            - tye (but my friends call me "Tye")
      I was just about to suggest the exact same thing (Actually, I would have used "in reply to "(tye)RE: Go to the root of replies... in thread Go to the root of replies", but same layout.)

      I missed what you suggested the first time because it was right justified, you might want to change that for the purposes of discussion.

    First of all:
    Yay! Thank you! <mahir>I KISS YOU!</mahir>

    Second:
    It would be nice if the in thread Go to the root of replies... wouldn't show up if the reply is to the rootnode, otherwise both links would lead to the root node, and according to the little Spock in me, that's just illogical. But then again, Spock was half human, so... ah, nevermind...

    In pseudo-perl:
    unless ($parent_node_id == $root_id) { print "in thread <a href="/index.pl?node_id=$root_node">blah blah +blah</a>\n"; }
    ... well, you catch my drift...

    How about a the word (TOP) after the reply text, in a different color? The slash is very hard to find.

    Update: Problem solved. I really like the new way. Kudos to our excellent vicar>
