pimperator has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I'm writing a script that has to pass a command to the terminal using system(). My problem is that the filehandle looks something like this
The output:$fileHand = "folder\012614ESA YADDA_(YADDA).txt"; print $fileHand."\n";
What's going on here? Is "\012" a secret newline character? O Perl Monks, I bless you. My file names will be numeric as such, if I escape the backslash every time, do I run the risk of screwing something up?$ folder 614ESA YADDA_(YADDA).txt
