      Unfortunately, there is no way how one can prove one's intentions.

      Besides, the site owner might have reasons to limit access even for people with noble intentions (e.g. traffic, or whatever)...

        As a chess lover i wouldnt even dream of bothering chess.com. Anyway, im starting with the www mechanize module, looks not all too difficult.
