Though wikipedia provides a list of fjords of the United States and a list of fiords of New Zealand there is no such list for Australia :-( ... though I see Britannica claims Port Davey as one ... so I'm not very confident on how to correctly pronounce fjord because I rarely hear it spoken here.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed a recent boat trip through the breathtaking Milford Sound in nearby New Zealand, I doubt I'll ever make it to Port Davey due to its extreme inaccessibility. :-(

In the absence of anything better I move that the Dead Parrot Sketch be the model for 'fjord' pronunciation. (they, Palin and Cleese, both clearly say fee-ord) Python's Dead Parrot Sketch - feeords are at 1:38	[reply]

Apparently it's still occasionally written "fiord" in New Zealand. At least autocorrection accepted° this without complaining.
